Sump Pump Installation in Berkeley & the East Bay

When water collects at a low point that cannot drain by gravity, a sump pump can move it to an appropriate discharge location.

Overview

Sump systems are often paired with French drains or crawl-space drainage. Water flows to a sump basin, and a pump lifts it out through a discharge line when it reaches a set level.

Whether a sump pump is the right choice depends on site grading, where water accumulates, and available discharge points. We evaluate the drainage design as a whole rather than treating the pump as a standalone fix.

Common warning signs

  • Water collecting at the lowest point of a crawl space or basement
  • Drainage systems with no gravity outlet
  • Recurring standing water after storms
  • An existing pump that runs constantly or has failed

How we approach it

  • Crawl-space sump basins

Installing a basin and pump at the low point of a crawl space.

  • Drain integration

Connecting French drains and collection lines to the sump.

  • Discharge routing

Running discharge lines to an appropriate location.

  • Pump replacement

Replacing failed or undersized pumps in existing systems.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a sump pump or a French drain?

They solve different parts of the problem and are often used together. A French drain collects water; a sump pump moves water when it cannot drain by gravity.

What happens if the power goes out?

Standard pumps need power. Backup options can be discussed depending on the system and how critical it is.

Can you replace my existing pump?

Yes, we can evaluate an existing system and discuss replacing or improving the pump and discharge.
